Abstract:
This paper explored how different human resource practices can be used to nurture responsible behaviors. Seventeen interviewees were purposively selected to share experienced HR practices that touched upon responsible behavioral development. The findings reinforced empirically the poor linkage among some HR practices and responsible behaviors, and identified new practices. It revealed tested examples of how to exploit HR practices to boost responsible propensities. This paper offers several implications for practice, especially how to select, train, develop and appraise responsible behaviors along with other measures within the means of SMEs.
