Abstract:
Front End Planning (FEP) is a vital and precise process for revealing the unknowns in project through developing a suitable scope definition that is followed by structured approach about the execution process. FEP for construction projects helps in identifying and reduces issues such as right-of-way concerns, utility adjustments, environmental hazards, logistic problems, and clarifying requirements. This project describes a detailed and effective risk management tool that has been developed by the Construction Industry Institute (CII). It is called the Project Definition Rating Index (PDRI) for building projects. Input from industry professionals from more than 30 companies was used in the tool development which is specifically based on FEP. The case study shows that a limited and specific list of issues related to the range definition of construction projects can be developed. The project also analyzes the PDRI score which corresponds to the building construction projects in Tripoli Lebanon.
