The power system voltage stability is investigated using the L-index. An optimization-based ranking algorithm in an effort to finding the weakest area in a power system was introduced. Moreover, the maximum MVAR loadability is determined for every PQ bus. The IEEE 14-bus power system was used to test the effectiveness of the proposed work.
