Abstract: 
The emerging concept of sustainable businesses is highly saturated in several engineering and
consulting industries but scarce in the Information Technology (IT) industry. To address this
gap, this research explores the implementation of sustainability practices in IT project
management through Green IT Project Management (GITPM). The study plans to investigate
the current sustainable practices of IT companies and their effect on the dimensions of the
Triple Bottom Line (TBL)—People, Profit, and Planet. Existing themes in sustainable project
management within the IT sector are explored through qualitative and quantitative content
analysis of the sustainability reports of the top 100 Forbes IT companies in 2024. Moreover, a
structural equation modelling (SEM) was run to see which practices are of the greatest
impact. This research aims to provide crucial insights into the current sustainability practices
of IT companies and pave the way for future research in this field for the sake of enhancing
the well-being of employees, improving the environmental preservation position of IT firms,
and providing innovation in the digital age. This research can be of benefit to IT firms, IT
project managers, policymakers, and other key stakeholders, as it aims at providing state-of-the-art knowledge on sustainable IT practices
