Abstract:
Translating tabloid texts about celebrities presents unique challenges due to such publications' inherent sensationalism and exaggerated nature. This thesis explores the complex task of translating tabloid content facing several constraints such as cultural, linguistic and lexical constraints, while striving for accuracy and maintaining the intended emotional impact and focuses on the linguistic, cultural, and ethical aspects that translators encounter when working with tabloid texts.
Tabloids are known for luring readers in with provocative headlines, exaggerated language, and speculative material. Maintaining the emotional tone and sensationalism without sacrificing the accuracy and dependability of the translated material is a tricky issue for translators. Finding the ideal balance becomes essential for maintaining moral standards while keeping the message of the original text.
The translator will use many theories and techniques in translation such as dynamic and formal equivalence and the techniques of adjustment of Eugene Nida, plus the 7 procedures of Vinay and Darbelnet to be able to transfer the message to the target readers.
