Abstract: 
3D printing is a rising and innovative technology that is currently proving its potential in all sectors. 3D printing techniques are also receiving big attention in the construction industry and have been explored, developed and tested by many researchers in order to develop printable mixes and techniques. The goal of this project is therefore to develop a lightweight concrete mix suitable for printing applications and to study its mechanical strength. To come up with this mix, three sub-objectives must be accomplished. First, developing a printable concrete mix by checking both extrudability and buildability then finding the adequate EPS-Sand replacement to obtain printable lightweight mortar and finally testing the compressive and flexural strength of these elements. It was found that three replacement percentages which are 5, 10 and 15 % were the adequate proportions to obtain a 3D printable mix with acceptable mechanical strength.
