Abstract: 
Search engines are fundamental for information retrieval on the World Wide Web. Search engines give higher relevance to certain words and phrases. The more confident a search engine is about the subject of the website, the higher web pages will be in the search rankings. Therefore, users should understand how search engines work and how they rank results to choose effective keyword phrases. The intent of this study is to analyze the algorithms used in all search engines by comparing them. Then, propose characteristic of a new algorithm for Arabic text based search.
