Issue Date: 2018
Abstract:
A chain of decisions defines the management process of any construction operation, including excavation, based on accurate estimate of productivity. To efficiently achieve the latter, qualitative and quantitative factors must be thought-out. This paper intends to assess the effect of the above factors on Backhoes productivity in different types of excavation in Lebanon, and to study the impact of the result on time and money losses. A productivity index model is generated to represent this effect using MAUT. Data will be collected through interviews and questionnaires from contractors or back-hoes owners in different companies and through various site visits to be later implemented in the model. The outcome of this research was a productivity index for back-hoes working in Lebanon.
