Subjects: Automobiles--Fuel systems
Issue Date: 2013
Abstract:
There is a recent concern about the effects of fuel system in regard to emissions reduction and efficiency in automobiles and trucks. Research described here is aimed at providing an analysis about the atomization of the fuel, and finally a design of the nozzle tip. The goal of this study is to investigate the diesel fuel system, with its operational system on caterpillar machine, analyze the atomization to achieve the best decomposition of the fuel, design and study the injector nozzle using finite element analysis. Work has started on this project on spring 2012. The team didnt have any idea about the type of problems and difficulties that show up every day. But using all the facilities and support that the university and the faculty provide, work proceeded until the end.
