Subjects: Concrete slabs--Design and construction
Issue Date: 2015
Abstract:
This project includes the structural design of four kinds of slabs with very long spans. Slabs of different types were designed as two way solid, two way ribbed, hollow cores and post tension alternatively. All frames in the structure were analyzed using structural analysis of excel sheet, done by us, and Safe 12. Slabs were designed for flexure, shear and punching. In addition, comparisons were done between the cost and time of each one. The building designed presented many constraints which will be later discussed. The design of the structure was carried out according to the standards of the ACI 318. Structural Plans, cross sections and drawings were obviously included to clarify the work done and to show the location of the designed members. The detailing chapter at the end of this report provides the steel reinforcement and strands for all types of slab.
