Issue Date: | 2024 | Publisher: | [Kalhat, Lebanon] : [University of Balamand], 2024 | Abstract: | This master's thesis explores the intersections of several key topics. It focuses on Lebanese Cultural Heritage, particularly how it interweaves with heritage preservation, technology, and cultural education. As we journey through the chapters, each part is dedicated to a significant topic. While providing a historical overview, the first chapter spotlights the new generation's role in heritage appreciation. It underscores the importance of using technological advancements, such as Virtual reality, to revive heritage's potential for the new generation's audience. From a theoretical point of view, including game design, user interface, and mechanics, the game's scheme encourages youth to immerse themselves more in their heritage and culture. As a result, many features of this game are designed to help players accomplish this objective. The second chapter tackles the architecture in Lebanon while examining traditional house types and technical requirements. The project game design guidelines, production details, user interface concerns, budget estimations, and game influences are all addressed as well. In summary, this study highlights how new media and technology can offer young people meaningful experiences that foster a stronger connection to their cultural heritage |
