Nebivolol, despite its favourable safety profile, can lead to significant liver injury. We describe the case of a 73-year-old hypertensive patient who developed significant liver enzyme elevations following the addition of nebivolol to her treatment regimen. Comprehensive workup ruled out other causes, leading to a diagnosis of drug-induced hepatotoxicity. Discontinuation of nebivolol resulted in normalization of liver enzymes. This case underscores the importance of monitoring liver function during beta-blocker therapy, particularly with nebivolol. |
