Abstract:
This article explores the concept of happiness from a Christian theological perspective, particularly through the Gospel of St. Luke. It contrasts the prevalent hedonistic view of happiness in today's capitalist society with the biblical notion of happiness, which is deeply rooted in faith, compassion, and social justice. The study focuses on the Beatitudes and the parable of the Good Samaritan, highlighting how these texts redefine happiness not as material wealth or social status but as selfless love and service to others. By challenging contemporary cultural norms, the Gospel of Luke offers a countercultural message that true fulfillment is found in humility, compassion, and justice, providing a more profound and lasting sense of happiness.
