Abstract:
This paper offers a thorough overview of recent advancements in cable failure analysis, life assessment techniques, and maintenance and replacement strategy optimization. How to properly manage the expensive and extensive network of cables, many of which are approaching or have passed their design life, is a key concern for power cable asset managers globally. These subjects are crucial to cable life cycle management, which is now being applied in many power utility firms and aims to maximize the operational value of cable assets.
