Abstract:
Geopolymer materials are new cementitious concrete that has gained a lot of success in the past decade due to their environmental properties (low carbon dioxide emission) and good thermal properties. This master thesis will be discussing the impact of adding steel fibers in different percentages in several geopolymer mix designs to assess their mechanical properties. The work conducted highlighted that steel fibers added in different percentages (ranging from 0 to 1%) have indicated an increase in compressive strength with increasing percentages of addition. Thus highlighting the importance of this study.
