ظاهرة الاشتقاق في معجم العلايلي

Abstract

يبين البحث أهمية الاشتقاق في تنمية اللغة من خلال أمثلة مكثفة توصل العلايلي بواسطتها إلى إثبات قدرة العربية على استيعاب الفاظ الحضارة الوافدة. وقد ابتعد في أكثر اشتقاقاته عن التعريب والتنغيل مثبتا قدرة اللغة على مواكبة العصر، نافيًا عنها عجزها وبداوتها. وقد خصّص فيه الموازين بمعان ودلالات محاولاً استنفاد طاقة هذه الموازين على احتضان الاشتقاقات الجديدة. فتفرّد المعجم من بين المعجمات الاحادية بوفرة ما ترجمه من الفاظ فرنسية وإنكليزية وغيرها مثبتا لها مسارد في نهاية المعجم فصار معجم العلايلي نسيج وحده في هذا الباب

This study seeks to demonstrate the importance of derivation in the development of languages. Through specific examples, al-'Alayli reveals the Arabic language's capacity to assimilate terms from other cultures. Al-'Alayli was able to avoid Arabisation and hybridisation in the process of derivation, thereby both showing the capacity for Arabic to adapt to modernity and refuting accusations of its impotence. In assigning semantic content to schemas, al-'Alayli attempts to exploit their potential to receive new derivations. Thus he succeeds in distinguishing his monolingual dictionary by the great number of terms from French, English and other languages that he was able to translate.

Ce travail voudrait démontrer l'importance de la dérivation pour le développement des langues. A travers d'exemples précis, al-'Alayli confirme la capacité de la langue arabe à assimiler des termes en provenance d'autres cultures. Al-'Alayli a pu éviter, dans le processus de dérivation, arabisation et hybridité, et ce afin d'affirmer l'aptitude de l'arabe à suivre la modernité et de rejeter les accusations concernant son impuissance. En assignant aux schèmes des contenus sémantiques, al-'Alayli tente 'exploiter le pouvoir qu'ont ces schèmes à recevoir de nouveaux dérivés. Ainsi il arrive à faire distinguer son dictionnaire monolingue par le grand nombre de termes français, anglais ou autres qu'il a pu traduire.
