Issue Date: | 2022 | Abstract: | Two-phase bubbly flows are widely used in engineering’s applications. In this study, the bubbly flow pattern in a bubble column was modeled numerically using ANSYS Fluent software. The test case is taken from the literature review and restudied. The CFD simulation is of a two-dimensional geometry for a laminar flow, while mixture and Eulerian models were used. Three meshes are used. The simulation revealed a plume of air oscillating with time. These results were confirmed by the results obtained from the literature. It is found that the higher velocity causes a higher volume fraction. Also, the finer mesh results a thinner bubble swarm. A mesh independent study is done on the bubble swarm global behavior. |
