Abstract:
The aim in this project is to structurally design and study the three kinds of foundations, and choose the most economical and practical one for the corresponding building. Technically, there are two types of foundations, shallow and deep. For the shallow foundation, there are two kinds, isolated and mat which will be designed in this project. For the deep foundation, piles will be designed. International codes were used to be able to design and analyze these structural elements like ACI for instance. The main goal in this project is to design this structural element in three different ways and compare these designs. The details will be discussed throughout this report.
