Abstract: 
The research discusses the behavior of a bare frame subjected to horizontal seismic loading. This specimen represents the design and construction technics of old buildings that are lacking seismic design and steel detailing. A bare frame specimen was subjected to horizontal loading by an actuator held on a reaction frame system in the laboratory until failure. Results show that failure occurs at the joints and dissipates to the beams and columns.
