Title: | Quality management intervention in molecular diagnostics in a hospital-based clinical laboratory | Authors: | Assaf, Nada | Advisors: | Rabbaa, Sally Al | Subjects: | Molecular diagnosis Medical laboratories--Quality control Total quality management Dissertations, Academic University of Balamand--Dissertations |
Issue Date: | 2019 | Abstract: | Over the past few years, major development has been made in molecular diagnostic techniques. Today, molecular testing is present in routine laboratory testing, especially in microbiology. The introduction of these new techniques should be mirrored with in-site space and personnel accommodations. In addition, specific cost analysis should be executed to assess the different components of profit generation. Physicians and patients satisfaction should also be taken into consideration. As part of a quality improvement plan, a molecular section in a peripheral hospital in North Lebanon was assessed, gap analysis was performed, and changes impacted. |
