Abstract:
Looking at the difficult situation concerning electricity in Lebanon, we decided to make a study on installing wind farms where possible on the Lebanese lands. The project lays down a light on the possibility to use this form of renewable energy in our country, even though there exist many limitations, the most important being the cost. Laying down the planning requirements, in order to find the best locations that fit to be transformed into wind farms, studying the wind power in the country, and discovering its potential, designing the blades and the tower in the best way that suits our conditions, analyzing the results using a finite element analysis on MSC software MD Patran & MD Nastran and finishing with a cost calculation, in order to locate the break-even point at which the country starts benefitting from the project were the main steps that we had followed.
