Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport (Beirut, Lebanon)
Issue Date: 2016
Abstract:
A study of OLS in BRHIA, the only international airport in Lebanon, is essential. GIS was used to design OLS of all three runways of this airport based on Annex 14 of ICAO. After doing the needed calculations, 2D and 3D OLS were modeled. Results showed that a huge number of buildings surrounding the airports penetrate in the OLS violating the requirement that OLS should be free from obstacles. The exact location of the violating maps and the violation heights are determined. Corresponding recommendations are issued after thorough analysis of the results.
