Abstract: 
The main objective of this paper is to propose a system that allows home owners to control their appliances remotely, and providing home security. The whole system will be wireless and based on the SMS technology to modernize the way people are living. This method is wireless, and thus it provides an ideal solution to most problems that home owners my face, also it is more compliant and cost-effective. Our system will provides security against intrusion as well as the automation of diverse home appliances using SMS. It uses GSM, so it will provide an easy access to the system for home automation and security. The goal of this paper is to develop a low price solution that will provide the ability to automate your home appliances wirelessly from any location, and will also make your home more secure in the case of an intrusion. The motivation is to make home automation easy for home owners. The system will be available for anyone to install, due to development of a low cost approach. It was thought to build a home automation system with an affordable cost, but due to the technology advancement it can be realised. Since crime is rising home security has become a major issue, and everyone want to take appropriate measures to protect their belongings and prevent intrusions. Plus there was an urg to automate home so that user can take advantage of the technological advancement. Therefore this paper proposes a system that allows user to control home appliances and also provide security, all in a SMS using GSM technology.
