Issue Date: | 2012 | Abstract: | Throughout the course of history, man has been adamantly following his insatiable drive for the development and advancement of his living standards. Until recently, this drive for development was unmatched by a commitment for maintaining Earths depleting natural resources, and as such, with ever increasing energy demands, both the prices of energy and the pollution it generates skyrocketed, and man now finds himself on the precipice of irreversible damage to the planet. Thus, improving energy efficiency of all types of supplies and technologies became of the utmost importance. Nowhere is this more relevant than in the automotive industry where the use of hybrid sources can totally eradicate the need for the internal combustion engine, subsequently leading to drastic decreases in emissions pollution. With Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles being on the forefront of this advancement in the automotive industry, our report will discuss Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle systems, provide the best design model that would solve the problem of the slow dynamics of the fuel cell, and to study the methods for modeling and controlling the different supply sources incorporated in the design. |
