Abstract:
In this report, a study of the effect of wireless faded channels on the performance of OV- CDMA systems is done. The channel models included in this study are Rayleigh, Rician and log normal multipath fading channels. The aim is to note the effect of each of these three fading channel models on the performance of OV-CDMA systems. Upon simulations, two performance parameters were calculated. The two parameters are the SIR ratio and the amount of fading ratio. They were calculated for systems affected by Rayleigh distributed, Rician distributed and lognormal distributed interferers. Simulations showed that the Rayleigh channels mostly degrade the systems performance. Rician channels negative effect on the system decreases as the line of sight component related to the Rician distribution increases. As for the lognormal channels, its effect is similar to the effect of Rician faded channel having a large line of sight component.
