Advisors: | Zerbe, Hikmat | Subjects: | Earthquake engineering Structural analysis (Engineering) |
Issue Date: | 2016 | Abstract: | This project consists of the design of a 21 storey building including five basements, located in Ashrafieh. It comprises two-way waffle slabs at the basement levels and post tension slabs in the above ground slabs. It also includes design of shear walls, basement wall, beams, spandrel beam, columns, stairs, ramp, and mat foundation. ACI 318-11, ASCE 7-10 and UBC 97 were used for the design criteria and calculations including the load estimation. ETABS 2015 was used to model the building and to design beams, columns, basement wall, shear walls, stair and spandrel beam while SAFE 2014 was used to design slabs and foundations. ETABS was also used to perform the dynamic analysis of the building. |
