This master's project centers on the renovation of an old train station in Latakia, Syria, originally built by the Soviet Union in the 1960s. Given the scarcity of detailed information available on the internet about this historical site, I embarked on an extensive field investigation to gather the necessary data. This included multiple site visits where I took comprehensive photographs and meticulously measured every part of the building myself. The hands-on research was crucial in developing an accurate and detailed renovation plan. The core objective of this project is to revitalize the public transportation system in Syria, fostering a renewed sense of connectivity and mobility. By carefully integrating modern design elements with the historical architecture of the station, the project aims to preserve its cultural heritage while enhancing its functionality. This blend of old and new not only honors the station's past but also aligns it with contemporary needs, providing a sustainable and efficient transportation hub for future generations. Through this endeavor, I aspire to contribute to the broader effort of rebuilding and modernizing Syria’s infrastructure, promoting economic development and social cohesion.en_US
