Voyages et travaux du père Sofian Boghiu au Liban

Abstract

Cet article présente l’histoire des voyages et des travaux du théologien, peintre et archmandrite Sofian Boghiu de la communauté monastique saint Antim de Bucarest ; il a peint les églises du monastère de Deir el-Harf et celle de saint Georges à Broummana (Liban). Ses relations avec le Métropolite du Mont-Liban Georges Khodr et le prêtre roumain Andrei Scrima sont évoquées à travers le journal du P. Sofian, récemment publié à Bucarest en 2019. Son amour des chrétiens arabophones d’Orient, y est révélé par ses notes sur les programmes de peinture qu’il a conçus pour les églises grecques orthodoxes et catholiques, les rituels et offices divins, la vie spirituelle, les traditions artistiques post-byzantines, les rencontres avec le clergé et les érudits libanais, et enfin les vestiges historiques et paysages du Liban.

Archimandrite Sofian Boghiu, a Romanian erudite theologian, a master painter of church frescoes and icons, and head of the St Antim monastic community in Bucharest; he worked in Deir el-Harf monastery’s church and in St George’s church in Broummana (Lebanon). His memoirs, published in Bucharest in 2019, mentions his impressions on Lebanon and Syria, its people, and the outstanding ecclesiastic figures he met, including Metropolitan Georges Khodr and Father Andrei Scrima. This article explores Boghiu’s memories on the paintings produced for Greek-Orthodox and Greek-Catholic churches as well as the comparisons he drew between the Romanian Orthodox Church and the Greek Orthodox Church of Antioch in terms of rites and rituals, post-Byzantine artistic traditions, and spiritual life.

يقدّم هذا المقال تاريخ أسفار اللاهوتيّ وكاتب الأيقونات والارشمندريت صوفيان بوغيو التابع لرهبنة القديس أنثيموس في بوخاريست وإنجازاته. لقد كتب أيقونات كنيسة دير القديس جاورجيوس في دير الحرف وكنيسة القدّيس جاورجيوس في برمانا (لبنان). لقد ذكر الاب صوفيان في مذكّراته، التي نشرت مؤخّرًا في بوخاريست العام 2019، عن علاقته مع المتروبوليت جورج خضر والأب الروماني أندريه سكريما. وتجلت محبته لمسيحيي الشرق الناطقين بالعربية من خلال ملاحظاته حول برامج كتابة الايقونات التي صمّمها لكنائس الروم الأرثوذكس والملكيّين الكاثوليك، وحول الطقوس والخدمات الإلهيّة، والحياة الروحيّة، والتقاليد الفنّيّة ما بعد البيزنطيّة، ولقاءاته مع رجال الدين والمفكّرين اللبنانيين. وأخيرًا الآثار والمناظر الطبيعية في لبنان
