Abstract:
This paper presents the Directional Source Aware Routing Protocol (DSAP) applied in Sensor Networks. As Routing constitutes a major constraint in sensor networks today, protocols have been developed to remedy to this problem. The current version of DSAP presents multiple disadvantages. In this paper, we highlight these weaknesses; we propose some solutions and some enhancements to the current algorithm based on the type of messages exchanged between the sensor nodes: the message can have a low, a medium or a high priority. This new algorithm is simulated using OMNET++ and compared to the standard DSAP protocol. The obtained validation and performance evaluation results are presented in the paper.
