Syrian refugees in Lebanon are facing one of the worst economic crises in decades this led to an increase in poverty and unemployment in the country. This study explores the association between depression symptoms, coping style, and economic indicators of depression symptoms through the Breif-COPE and PHQ-9 assessment tools, among a sample of female Syrian refugees. The study was conducted in Beirut Lebanon during the 2022 economic crisis, where participants were chosen upon convenience from a health medical center in the area. Furthermore, the sample was constituted of 105 female Syrian refugees aged between 19-25 years old. The results indicated that the prevalent coping style in the sample is the emotional coping style. Regarding the correlations, a significant negative correlation was found between depression symptoms and economic indicators. Another significant negative correlation was detected between depression symptoms and Breif-Cope. Moreover, a positive correlation was found between depression symptoms and two coping styles emotion-focused coping and avoidant coping. Furthermore, a negative correlation was found between depressive symptoms and problem-focused coping. Implications of the current research and future directions for research are then highlighted.en_US
