dc.description.abstract | Anxiety disorders are one of the most prevalent disorders worldwide. A variety of research has shown that guided imagery reduces anxiety symptoms. The main aim of this study is to explore the effects of guided imagery on students’ anxiety levels. This was achieved by measuring the sample’s anxiety levels using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Adults (STAI-AD), before and after the guided imagery sessions. The sample was chosen from Al- Jinan High School, located in Tripoli, Lebanon. The population consisted of 14 students in the control group, and 14 students in the experimental group, adding up to a total of 28 students. The results, analyzed by a t-test, showed that there was a significant difference in the experimental groups’ anxiety levels before and after the intervention. Therefore, guided imagery techniques can be effectively utilized to decrease anxiety levels in Lebanese high- school students. | en_US |
