L'identité Piégée: Georgette! De Farida Belghoul

Abstract

Georgette, roman beur de Farida Belghoul, présente un cas limite de crise identitaire par le biais d'une voix enfantine dont la naïveté ne le cède en rien à l'acuité. Stratégies narratives et stratégies identitaires mettent en évidence une série de dissonances révélatrices de la déstabilisation voire de la pathologisation du sujet. Décalée structurellement par rapport à des modèles identificatoires et des solidarités incompatibles, sans repères et sans espace propre, la jeune narratrice est « perdue » dans tous les sens du terme.

Farida Belghoul's beur novel. Georgette. explores a limit case of an identity crisis through a child's voice whose innocence sacrifices none of its acuity. Narrative strategies and strategies of identity formation reveal a series of dissonances that betoken the destabilization and, indeed, the pathology of the subject. Structurally split from models of identity and incompatible solidarities, with neither landmarks nor a space of her own, the young narrator is "lost" in every sense of the term.
