Abstract:
At the beginning of the 14th century, the Venetians resumed their commercial activity with Egypt and the Levant by signing two treaties with Sultan Annaser Mohammad in 1302 and 1304. Thereafter, these relations had ups and downs. Through the analysis of archives of the Venetian General Assembly, this study centres on the evolution of the commercial sea line between Venice and Beirut, also known as La Muda di Baruti, during the 16th century.
