dc.description.abstract | This paper deals with the principal designs of Iraqi architecture in diverse eras, and addresses the aspect of building techniques through the study of some important examples, which reflect the evolution of cities and their facilities in the centre and south of Iraq. It considers the link between their location on the banks of rivers and the necessity for protection, as well as the singularity of the environment and climate. Our study covers city planning, the sculptures, especially those of Assyrian origins, which covered the internal walls of the palaces and temples. | en_US |
