dc.description.abstractIn 1912, the Sublime Porte nominated Yohannes Pasha Kouyoumdjian to the position of Moutasarrif of Mount Lebanon. The ambassadors of the six European countries approved the new candidate’s name. Yohannes Pasha was thus given the rank of minister and was called Pasha. Based on Lebanese and foreign archives, this article aims to better understand the person and the actions of this Moutasarrif.en_US
