dc.description.abstract | Advances in food technologies comprise multiple processes that range from agricultural-specific technologies to food processing technologies. All these technologies have a common objective which is to improve the quality of food and facilitate the processes of food production, packaging, storage, and distribution while taking into account some of the challenges that these procedures may face and providing an adequate solution for them. This paper will discuss the different technologies applied in the food and agricultural system including irrigation, agricultural mechanization, hydroponics, satellite remote sensing, food and agricultural biotechnology, nanotechnology, genetic modifications, agroecological farming, and the use of raw larval material or insects as a protein source. It will also introduce the main challenges that are facing these technologies and explain some solutions and recommendations for a more effective approach to these technologies. | en_US |
