dc.description.abstract | Billions of wasted dollars result from project failure each year. Project Management Institute (PMI) revealed in their recent global survey that around $ 1 million is wasted by organizations globally every 20 seconds due to lack of planning and ineffective implementation of their business strategy through weak project management practices and poor projects performance. The main factors of these dramatic failure are time, money and scope. These factors are subject to colossal financial failures globally. Therein lies the importance of project management. “Project management is the driver of strategy, but organizations are failing to bridge the gap between strategy design and its delivery,” said Mark A. Langley, President and Chief Executive Officer, Project Management Institute. There is a high probability for the failed organizations to adjust their financial statuses and performance by leveraging proven successful practices. To note that these organizations that were ineffective in project management could waste 21 times profits than the organization with well performed project management and planning capabilities. Thus, a very powerful relation between financial performance and an effective project management. In an era of daily competitive pressure, the business disruption due to evolving technology and increased financial scrutiny, are taking over the world, a close study of project management is critical and can drive organization for better project performance and strategy implementation. | en_US |
