dc.description.abstractThe COVID-19 pandemic which began in Spring 2020 compelled organizations to move to remote work in order to minimize the virus' spread. Many employees had to relocate their work from offices to homes. This unexpected circumstance has forced individuals and businesses to quickly adopt online working practices in order to retain the same level of productivity as when they worked in the office. This research study the remote working success at the University of Balamand. The survey conducted amongst its employees highlighted the challenges that this change in workstyle presents. The challenges found in this study are mostly consistent with previous research. In terms of work-life balance, communication, and working conditions. The study highlights the effect of demographics characteristics on the success or failure of remote working; it also confirms that remote work presents challenges to employees. Moreover, the findings outlined the importance of leadership on the success of remote work. Finally, the research shed light on the future of telecommuting in higher education institutions.en_US
