dc.description.abstract | Tripoli is my hometown. It has long been abandoned and neglected. In this featured Diploma Project, I finally have the opportunity to serve my city, even if just by theory. Tripoli is a city with so many hidden gems and potentials. These treasures lie within its people, specifically within its youth. The young generation of Tripoli have been through so much suppression, neglection and deprivation. This fact led them to become more creative, productive, inspired, and innovative. However, all of these ideas are going in vain since there are no means to translate them. This startup hub resembles a platform throughout which this young generation will be provided with the opportunity to manifest their ideas. Not only that, they will be guided, directed and professionally advised to be able to actually see their ideas come to life and benefit them economically, and benefit the society. The project’s location is strategic. It is located along the Boulevard, at the Abou Ali Roundabout, parallel to Abou Ali River. It aims to serve all the surrounding areas, reaching al koura. The program contains public areas like shops, cafeterias, and a restaurant, located at street level, around the agora, and accessible to the public. As you go higher, the program becomes semi public including interactive and study areas like classes, workshops and offices. The final levels are private and contain a private pool, private gym, and dormitories. I hope my project is of help to my society in any way. We need this in Tripoli, and the young generation of this neglected city will have a haven and a getaway to release their thoughts and energy, and manifest it in the right, guided way. | en_US |
