Private laboratories serve a major role in enhancing patient care through their continuous improvements and research studies. This will enhance the role of the community laboratories which will leave a great impact on the transformation of healthcare in Lebanon. The recent pandemic highlighted the importance of the diagnostic service, the need of new techniques for improving quality, and the role of researchers. One should look forward into starting a medical laboratory because this is an opportunity to leave a significant impact on the health field and eventually will decrease the rate of mortality and morbidity. Hence, to have success right out of the gate, you need to know the basics of what it takes to start and run a successful laboratory. This project will describe clear well-organized basics and key points to be followed before and during the process of implementing your laboratory which include setting your laboratory vision and mission, choosing a convenient location while complying with the legal regulations set by the MPOH, furnishing your laboratory based on its work capacity while applying the right QMS in parallel with appropriate LIS. Strength and weak points should be written and highlighted throughout the path. The project serves to help you know what to consider and what to avoid while achieving your goal while trying to seek continuous future improvement and expansion.en_US
