Abstract:
This research paper aims to investigate the different forms of gender-based violence in two series: Khamsa Wa Nos (Lebanese/Syrian) and Al Basha (Lebanese). The objective is to measure the types of violence and the quantity in which they occur. This paper follows an exploratory approach using a visual qualitative analysis. Violence is divided into three categories: emotional and psychological, physical, and sexual. The analysis shows that most female characters are subjected to at least one form of violence throughout the two series.
