dc.description.abstract | Purpose – Work-life balance has become an essential aspect of employees’ fundamental rights provided by the workplace in almost every industry. As this concept developed throughout the years, Human Resources personnel and employers have become more aware of its importance and the impact that these work benefits can have on employee satisfaction, productivity, and consequently, the overall success of the organization. The educational sector, specifically private school teachers, is known for the high amounts of workload during school hours and even after. Hence, this research study aims to explore the relationship that exists between work-life balance and job satisfaction among private school teachers in the Northern region of Lebanon. Methodology – Due to the seeking of personal and practical experiences of private school teachers at work, we opted for data collection through semi-structured interviews. The data collected was then analyzed through thematic analysis whereby themes and subthemes were created to analyze the findings. Findings – Applying a strategic work-life balance program for private school teachers in the workplace will result in a more satisfied, productive workforce. Limitations – The research was conducted as part of a Master’s final project which limited the time to complete it to only around 4 months. Location was also a limitation as we only conducted the research in North Lebanon. Implications – Through this research, we contributed to the debate of work-life balance and its relationship with job satisfaction in a new unexplored context that is North Lebanon. | en_US |
