dc.description.abstract | It is the argument of this thesis that the Muslim Brotherhoods discursive claim of championing the civil state does not correspond with their actual position concerning their view of the constitution and many other items. As corroboration, this thesis analyses the concept of the civil state and the position of the Muslim Brotherhood towards it, by means of indicators such as the issue of democracy, gender equality, individual freedom, freedom of the press, and the autonomy of the judicial system. The thesis will compare such indicators with that of the Salafist party and the Liberal Wafd Party. The result was a rapprochement between the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafist more vital than to that of the Liberal Wafd party. | en_US |
