In order to characterize and categorize leaves, a research was done to find patterns based on features and geometry of leaves and their corresponding fractal dimensions. We picked a sample of 20 leaves from plant nurseries in Tripoli and we grouped them according to their features and their geometry. Then we computed their fractal dimensions using freely available software. We found some relationships between fractal dimensions and certain features and shapes of leaves that should be extended to a larger sample of leaves to get a more accurate pattern.
