dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to observe the integration of technology in grade 4 classroom to see if this integration has impacted changes in the school curriculum. It will also document teachers methodology to see whether it has become more of a student-centered environment. The aim was to observe if technology was used by teachers as an add-on to curriculum to improve their teaching practices and their students learning or if it was used to transform this teaching practice in a way that neither learning nor teaching could occur without it. This research is a qualitative study which is based on what people tell and do for the researcher to understand the meaning of what is going on in the context where the research is taking place. The researcher has used various data collection methods such as observation checklist, field notes, and semi-structured interviews. Results have shown that technology use has enriched teachers materials with videos and PowerPoints which in turn have emotionally engaged students in learning. Teachers practices were mainly teachers centered with a slight introduction of student centered techniques. Consequently, the results obtained validate the importance of technology integration to facilitate and to differentiate learning. | en_US |
