The current study aims to test the relationship between perceived emotional intelligence of leaders and employee commitment in the Lebanese banking sector. The objective of this study is to find ways to increase employee commitment in the banking sector by giving recommendations to banks and managers on how to handle emotions and emotional situations in such a way to foster loyalty and commitment. Data is collected from banks in different areas in Lebanon and ten hypotheses are developed and tested using structural equation modeling method. The results of the analysis provide supporting evidence of the positive effects of emotional intelligence of leaders on employee commitment, while identifying the specific variables of emotional intelligence of leaders that positively affect commitment in employees.en_US
