dc.description.abstract | In the scope of generating clean energy locally and providing power coverage to small rural areas of Lebanon, far from the main power plants, using their natural local resources, it is found that the design of a mini-hydraulic power plant on one of the streams, Fnaideq stream, providing between 122 kW and 368 kW of electrical power, according to a specific flow rate and under a water gross head of roughly 130m, costing around 345000{dollar} only is a great initiative. This project presents data collection about different small streams in North Lebanon, the design of a local hydraulic power plant at the Fnaideq Stream, a detailed cost study along with a software application. As a crucial note, the design project is completed in a way to have the least amount of ecological and touristic impact on the region. The ecological footprint, the cost of building and installation, and the effect on the locals lives and properties are all factors that the project will aim to balance in order to provide a good power generation while having a minimal negative impact on the surroundings. | en_US |
