dc.description.abstractWith the recent evolvement of multimedia services, higher bandwidth requirements were mandated. The Backbone network itself has grown in capacity leaving the bottleneck at the access network level, which is known as the last mile. DSL and cable modem might be a good solution, but they do not scale well due to their many shortcomings. Ethernet Passive Optical Networks are a solution to our problem. Adopting a point to multipoint architecture by nature, these networks require a dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme. In our research, we will discuss a new scheme based on code division and we will scientifically prove the edge this model has over the scheme proposed by G.Kramer, known as IPACT.en_US
