Abstract:
The unwind system is when the material is delivered in rolls for processing industry. It is unwound for manufacturing, fed through the production process to get a final product at the end. This project discusses how an unwinding system runs in the production of paper. It is composed of two motors driving two inflatable shafts throw belts and pulleys. Each shaft hold one paper rolls with a diameter of one meter and a weight around 100 kg. During the process one paper roll is being used, while the second one is on stand-by mode. In order to maintain a continuous production, when one roll finish, the other one start rolling. This continuous production is maintained by the splicing system that glues the paper of the two rolls together and cut the previous rolling paper. Then the paper continues its motion on the rollers of the dancer arm. This arm has two functions, one is to supply material during the splicing between two rolls and the second is to maintain constant tension during the normal run. After this process the paper continues its motion on the rollers to complete its manufacturing process.
