The landing gear of an aircraft is considered as one of the most important part of the airplane. It helps in the control and stability of the airplane during takeoff and landing phases; thus, the safety of the passengers in any voyage depends on this vital element. In the purpose of analyzing the nose landing gear of the Boeing 747-400 aircraft, this project will deal with the finite element simulation and motion analysis using SimXpert program. The objective of this project is to simulate and analyze the nose landing gear of the Boeing 747-400. Two cases were conducted and are presented in this report. The conducted motion analysis revealed the sizing of the damper to be 1.03e5 N.s/m, and the spring stiffness to be 1.15e6 N/m. While the finite element analysis showed a maximum stress of 118.3 MPa which is below the allowable stress (250 MPa). A detailed analysis of the result and a conclusion are presented in this report for further research in this field.en_US
